Aerotek Press Operator in Solon, Ohio

Job Title: Press Operator | $20-26 HR

Job Description

As a Press Operator, you will set up and operate heavy-duty power presses to bend, form, stretch, and straighten various products such as plates and structural shapes. This role requires you to follow blueprints, layouts, and templates to ensure precision and quality. You will plan sequences of operations with a deep understanding of materials and assist in operating multiple presses simultaneously for a variety of stamping products.

Responsibilities

  • Plan sequence of operations using knowledge of materials.

  • Assist with setup and operate multiple automatic or multi-slide presses simultaneously.

  • Work from drawings, route sheets, schedules, and both written and verbal instructions.

  • Check materials for correct size and type, load coils, adjust uncoiler and material rollers.

  • Assist with the setup of complicated progressive dies, adjust stroke and feed as needed.

  • Use micrometers, calipers, scales, and gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.

  • Move materials using a lift truck or crane as necessary.

  • Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.

  • Report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to a supervisor.

  • Observe all safety rules and maintain a neat and orderly work area.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, which may require additional hours to meet company needs.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of manufacturing experience with some experience in operating general manufacturing machinery.

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and machine operation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Physical ability to bend, squat, reach above the head, and lift at least 25 pounds.

Work Environment

This role offers flexibility with open shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shifts with additional shift differential for 3rd shift. Availability for weekends is required, with Sundays offering double-time pay if it is the 7th day worked. The work is primarily in a stamping facility focused on producing fasteners for the steel industry. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $52000.00/yr.
