Job Title: Press Operator -- 2nd Shift

Location: Solon, OH Employment Type: Full-Time Work Environment: On-Site Manufacturing Shift: 2nd Shift


Position Summary

The Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating heavy-duty power press equipment to manufacture metal components according to specifications. This position requires prior experience operating Progressive Press / Progressive Die stamping machines and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty power presses, including progressive press and progressive die stamping machines, to bend, form, stretch, and straighten metal components.
  • Assist with setup and operation of automatic, multi-slide, and progressive press machines for various stamping operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, route sheets, schedules, and verbal or written work instructions.
  • Plan and sequence press operations using knowledge of materials and press capabilities.
  • Load metal coils and materials; adjust uncoilers, feeders, stroke length, and press settings as required.
  • Assist with setup of complex progressive dies, movable and stationary forming blocks.
  • Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, scales, and fixed gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Move materials using lift trucks or cranes as necessary.
  • Install, verify, and maintain required press safety devices.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including overtime as needed to meet production demands.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience operating Progressive Press / Progressive Die stamping machines (required)

  • Ability to bend, squat, reach overhead, and work in confined spaces
