Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining all industrial equipment. This role involves performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the continuous operation of converting equipment and lines. The mechanic will participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives, perform repairs, and implement technical solutions. Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and multimeters is required. The equipment to be maintained includes conveyors, photo eye sensors, packaging equipment, labelers, and cappers.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance on all industrial equipment.
Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Ensure continuous operation of converting equipment and lines.
Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
Perform repairs and implement technical solutions.
Use precision measuring equipment effectively.
Essential Skills
Experience in maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
1+ years of industrial maintenance experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and 3-phase motors.
Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves.
Troubleshooting, mechanical repair, preventive maintenance, and electrical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred 3+ years working in a GMP environment.
Computer proficiency in MS Office.
Minimum 5 years of related manufacturing experience in an FDA facility preferred.
Experience in a non-FDA facility with at least 3 years is acceptable.
Previous experience in GMP or food manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment
The facility operates nearly a million square feet of production and distribution centers and runs around the clock, five days a week. Products are distributed across the nation, seven days a week. The company is a liquid filling facility and prefers candidates with a experience in liquid filling or packaging, especially from the food and beverage industry, due to FDA regulations. The work environment includes strong odors depending on the department, such as mouthwash, lotion, or alcohol.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
