Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving and verifying shipments against packing slips/BOLs, inspecting them for damage and accuracy. You will put away and stage materials in designated warehouse locations while following safe material handling practices. Additionally, you will pick and kit materials for internal departments and field teams, ensuring orders are complete and accurate. You will also use computer systems to enter inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory counts.
Responsibilities
Receive and verify shipments against packing slips/BOLs; inspect for damage and accuracy.
Put away and stage materials in designated warehouse locations using safe material handling practices.
Pick/kit materials for internal departments and field teams; ensure orders are complete and accurate.
Use computer systems to enter inventory transactions (receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments).
Maintain accurate inventory counts, perform cycle counts, and assist with physical inventories.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and/or clamp truck (as applicable).
Load/unload trucks safely, secure loads, and confirm delivery documentation.
Deliver materials to construction sites and/or company locations; communicate professionally with site contacts.
Essential Skills
Experience with forklift operation.
Proficiency in material handling.
Experience in inventory management.
Ability to pick materials accurately.
3+ years of experience in warehouse/material handling, shipping/receiving, or related work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Comfortable using computers for inventory (ERP/WMS systems, spreadsheets, handheld scanners, etc.).
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work on your feet throughout the shift.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Strong attention to detail—able to match parts/materials, labels, and counts accurately.
Dependable attendance and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and involves operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks. The position requires regular lifting of up to 50 lbs and standing for the majority of the shift. You will work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of Sleepy Eye, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
