The Opportunity

Working in Sioux Falls location The Production Supervisor will be responsible for providing supervision, administration, and technical direction for department team members and ensure work is occurring in an efficient and effective manner. Through coordinating with various departments, the Production Supervisor ensures that production requirements are met to assist in the smooth flow of order to delivery, all while adhering and contributing to a strong safety culture. This facility manufactures a line of premier commercial enclosed, dust-tight and self-reloading conveyors, designed for installation in grain handling facilities, soy and corn processing operations and industrial operations. It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.

The Team

Our large production team consists of powder coaters, welders, assemblers, metal fabricators, and more. As a Production Supervisor you will provide leadership to 5-10 direct reports within the Powder Line department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor department performance for Safety, Quality, 5S and Productivity.

  • Responsible for communicating daily production goals and reporting status to Production Manager.

  • Take initiative to recognize areas of opportunity and resolve with appropriate action.

  • Identify problems and work towards root cause elimination utilizing appropriate problem-solving methods.

  • Collaborate with Production Manager and Engineering staff to troubleshoot production/design issues.

  • Assist with the selection, orientation and training of new team members, working with Human Resources and Production Manager.

  • Develop/maintain positive employee relations and resolution of employee issues and concerns.

  • Conduct and prepare annual performance appraisals and individual development plans.

  • Analyze data, investigate personnel issues, and collaborate with Human Resources and Operations leadership to identify and implement solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience in Production or Operations management in a similar manufacturing environment.

  • Deep understanding of powder coating processes, application techniques, curing, and associated equipment.

  • 3-5+ years of supervisory or management experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven experience in team leadership, employee coaching, process improvement, and production planning.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret product blueprints and engineering specifications.
