Berkshire Hathaway Energy Service Dispatcher in Sioux City, Iowa
JOB DESCRIPTION
Receive and prioritize customer operations designated work orders in a fashion that maximize employee availability and monitor appointment status to ensure customer commitments are being achieved. Through effective application of service dispatch systems and methods, assess type and urgency of service requests and assign to appropriate service technicians. Continually monitor status of service activities and provide coordination and support to service operations and field personnel.
There are currently two (2) open positions.
One position will be on a rotating schedule.
One position will be filled for the following hours of work: Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM (4, 10s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Exercise judgment giving precedence to dispatch of requests and/or scheduled service orders utilizing mobile data terminals, resource manager, customer service system and voice radios. (65%) Coordinate non time sensitive work orders to help fill any potential down time in schedule (15%) Coordinate service work and provide support to other gas and electric operating divisions. (10%) Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%)
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in business or a related major or the equivalent related work experience. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.) Three years of related experience. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Personal computer skills. Effective ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Must be willing to work a variable schedule (rotating shift) in a centralized dispatch center. This position is subject to Department of Transportation mandated drug testing, including but not limited to random drug testing.
