Position Summary

The SHEQ Coordinator ensures compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards at the Belgian plant. This role combines operational safety leadership, quality system management, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship. The position requires strong collaboration with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.

Responsibilities

Safety (50%)

  • Perform daily safety checks, centralize observations, and lead safety onboarding.

  • Organize medical checks, manage PPE, and coordinate internal/external trainings.

  • Manage audits (EHS, FM Global) and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain risk assessments, KPIs, and safety documentation.

  • Act as contact for security systems and prepare annual prevention advisor report.

  • Support projects: 5S implementation, LOTO improvement, chemical risk assessments, new line installation, UK safety system.

  • Submit mandatory safety declarations and follow regulatory changes.

Quality (20%)

  • Monitor quality KPIs and ISO 9001 compliance.

  • Manage audits, non-conformities, and customer claims.

  • Participate in divisional meetings and ERP implementation.

Product Stewardship (20%)

  • Handle PCN notifications and regulatory compliance (REACH, CLP, ADR).

  • Manage government audits and labelling conformity.

  • Support SDS software implementation and customer documentation.

Environment (10%)

  • Prepare mandatory reports (emissions, water, plastics, GHG).

  • Manage waste removal and environmental projects (sewer, rainwater, hazardous stock).

  • Monitor air emissions and update environmental documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or SHEQ-related field.

  • Certifications: Prevention Advisor Level 2 and Environment Coordinator Type A

  • Additional HSE certifications (First Aid, ADR, etc.)

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a SHEQ role.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English.

  • Willingness to travel (10%).
