Hilton Senior Manager, Safety & Security - South East Asia in Singapore, Singapore

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important, and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

It involves the provision of advice and support for the protection of the company’s owned and managed assets and to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and company policies related to all safety and security disciplines. You will support the region in aspect of occupational health and safety, food safety, fire safety, security, crisis management, trading standards, public health, Team Member housing (where applicable) and disability compliance.

Planning Activities

  • Evaluate hotel-level claims management to reduce direct and indirect costs.
  • Support pre-opening and operating hotels in implementing safety and security standards.
  • Update policies and procedures in line with new regulations and industry trends.
  • Plan and deliver safety and security programs and workshops for SEA.

Organising Activities

  • Oversee investigations at corporate, leased, owned, and managed properties, providing guidance to Safety/ Security Managers.
  • Provide technical and project management support for safety, security, and asset protection systems.
  • Coordinate special projects and assist hotels/ corporate offices with safety and security threats.
  • Act as APAC crisis coordinator (excluding China) and monitor regional threats.

Directing Activities

  • Manage the regional hotel audit programme using a risk-based approach with follow-up reporting and benchmarking.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and oversee the implementation of security and leisure manuals.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships (Legal, Engineering, HR, Operations, Communications, etc.).

Controlling Activities

  • Implement safety and security programs, policies, and statutory training across assigned hotels.
  • Ensure full legal compliance with fire safety, occupational health, food safety, and team member housing requirements.
  • Monitor legislation updates and adjust procedures, training, and documentation accordingly.
  • Evaluate performance against standards, enforce policies, and manage departmental budget and expenditures.

Direct Reports: None; however, it is necessary that this position mentors, supports and supervises both Regional Safety & Security and hotel-based leaders. This will include assisting the General Manager/ Director of Operations with annual PDRs, monitoring quality of work, offering additional training and support where required and assisting with high profile events or incidents at the hotel where a more senior level of support is required.

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, risk management, occupational safety, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience of and a progressive career in safety and security management.
  • Proven experience in a regional or multi-country leadership role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the following:

  • Security operations, threat and risk assessments, and crisis management frameworks.

  • Fire life safety systems and occupational safety legislation.
  • Emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, and incident investigation techniques.
  • Risk and compliance frameworks across Asia, including local regulatory variations.
  • Hospitality industry standards and operational realities in complex or high-risk environments.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure and make sound decisions during crises.
  • Skilled in relationship building with authorities, stakeholders, and corporate functions.
  • High level of cultural awareness and adaptability across diverse environments.
  • Communicate effectively in English (written, verbal and listening) and uses sound judgment, patience, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with Team Members and guests.
  • Proficient with computer applications, document and report preparation, email communication, and capable of using the company’s AI platform – Copilot.
  • Strong observational and analytical abilities to assess workplace behaviours, identify concerns, and maintain professional development through proactive training.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 50%, depending on the business needs.

It would be useful if you have:

  • Master’s degree in risk, operations, or crisis management.
  • Professional Certifications (at least one of the following would be strongly preferred):

  • CPP (Certified Protection Professional – ASIS International)

  • PSP (Physical Security Professional – ASIS International)
  • CFSM / CFSP (Certified Fire Safety or Fire Protection Manager – IFSM, NFPA, or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification in Occupational Safety & Health
  • Business Continuity or Crisis Management certification (e.g., BCI, ISO 22301)
  • Fluency in other language including Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai or Vietnamese to support the SEA region.
