Job Overview
The FX Regional Account Manager Team Head is a Director-level position responsible for leading and coordinating the FX Regional Account Manager (RAM) team across Asia Pacific to defend and grow Citi's market position in Corporate FX.
The FX RAM Team Head will provide senior-level oversight, strategic direction, and institutional coordination to ensure consistent, high-touch coverage of key strategic multinational corporate clients. This position is critical to defending Citi's market leadership and coordinating cross-functional responses to protect and grow our franchise.
Strategic Client & Market Management
Proactively monitor market trends, competitive activity, and client vulnerabilities to identify risks and opportunities within the client portfolio.
Lead the development and execution of strategies to respond to competitive dynamics, including optimizing product solutions, pricing, and client engagement approaches.
Ensure consistent, high-quality coverage and relationship management for strategic accounts, with clear accountability and governance frameworks.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex client relationships, mobilizing internal resources for effective resolution and maintaining client knowledge.
Client Relationship Management & Growth
Provide senior-level oversight and direct engagement for top-tier and strategically important client accounts.
Participate in key client meetings to deepen relationships, demonstrate institutional commitment, and establish multiple touchpoints beyond individual FX sales.
Drive cross-sell initiatives across various products and broader capabilities to enhance client value and increase wallet share.
Conduct comprehensive client reviews to understand full relationship value, identify growth opportunities, and ensure consistent service excellence.
Team Leadership & Performance
Lead, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team across diverse markets.
Set clear performance standards, accountability frameworks, and revenue targets, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and client-centricity.
Facilitate the sharing of competitive intelligence, market insights, and best practices across the team.
Optimize coverage models and resource allocation, and implement career development paths and succession planning to maximize portfolio effectiveness and talent retention.
Governance & Controls
Partner closely with control functions (Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, Finance) to ensure robust governance and control infrastructure.
Cultivate a culture of responsible finance, strong governance, supervision, expense discipline, and ethics.
Exercise sound judgment in business decisions, appropriately assessing risk/reward and safeguarding the firm's reputation, clients, and assets.
Ensure strict adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, firm policies, and professional conduct standards.
Obtain and maintain all necessary registrations and licenses required for the role
Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills
15+ years of sales and relationship management experience in FX markets at a financial services organization
Proven track record in a senior client-facing role working with multinational corporate clients and buy-side community
Deep understanding of corporate FX products including spot, forwards, options, and structured solutions
Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing sales teams
Strong strategic thinking and ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives
Proven ability to defend client relationships against competitive threats and win competitive situations
Extensive network of senior client relationships across Asia Pacific corporate segment
Experience working collaboratively with Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, and other product partners
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret market data and competitive intelligence
Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and influence without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in multiple Asia Pacific markets with understanding of regional dynamics
Track record of significant revenue growth and market share gains
Knowledge of regulatory requirements across multiple Asia Pacific jurisdictions
Existing relationships with key decision-makers at target multinational corporations
Education
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience required
Master's degree (MBA or relevant field) strongly preferred
