Associate Director, Energy and Power

What the day will look like

  • Drive the negotiation and placement of insurance/reinsurance contracts, producing desktop & market quotations and lead terms, for the Specialty;

  • Run a placement account independently and be accountable for budget performance on the account

  • Partner with Aon resources (Sales & Marketing, Specialty Team, GBC network and in-Country teams) to deliver the widest practical range of insurance solutions and services to client.

  • Ensure implementation of broking excellence initiatives including: Client Promise; Sales / Cross Selling; Wording/Slip standardization; Standard Contracts; Data Quality; Broking operations process flow; Carrier / market engagements.

  • Interface with the market and to secure optimum outcome for client risk coverage

  • Contribute to key thought leadership content for our clients and markets, and demonstrate understanding and insight into the industry, clients, risks and solutions.

  • Contribute to regular "State of the Market" reports for the Specialty updating on market trends and losses relevant to the Specialty.

  • Ensure knowledge and best practice approaches are captured, documented and shared to ensure resiliency in the broking function for the Specialty

  • Responsibility to ensure that all broking / placement activity is in compliance with MAS regulations and Aon Company Policy and Guidelines.

  • Assist the Team Leader to implement growth strategy for the team (Cedant/TPP/Network)

  • Take the lead and support the junior brokers in complex placements.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Preferably 7 years of Insurance and/or Reinsurance market experience

  • Good client relationships with both insurers and reinsurers

  • Goal-oriented and collaborative amongst the team ensuring open communication; focus on common purpose and active personal participation.

  • Excellent communication skills; oral/written English proficiency

  • High motivational, ability to work independently and takes initiative

  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel
