Job Description
This role focuses on assembling mechanical and electrical components for complex systems using detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. You will build frames, sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and enclosures, install electrical components and wiring, and perform in‑process quality inspections to ensure all assemblies meet strict production and quality standards. The position requires hands-on work with hand and power tools, precise mechanical alignment, and accurate documentation of results and issues for the engineering and project teams.
Responsibilities
Assemble frames, sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and enclosure components using hand and power tools.
Install mechanical hardware, busbars, brackets, cable trays, and structural components according to engineering drawings and build instructions.
Perform precise alignment of mechanical parts to meet design and quality requirements.
Follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to complete electrical assembly tasks.
Route, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and harnesses accurately and safely.
Install electrical components and ensure proper fit, function, and connection.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions with a high level of accuracy.
Conduct in-process quality inspections to confirm assemblies meet all standards and specifications.
Document assembly results and clearly communicate issues or non-conformances to engineering or project leads.
Work from a tablet to locate and follow job orders and process documentation.
Assemble, modify, rework, and reassemble production components using drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and verbal instructions.
Perform repetitive and skilled assembly operations while maintaining quality and production targets.
Conduct basic quality checks and identify defects or non‑conformances, escalating issues as needed.
Use hand and power tools such as power screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers in a safe and efficient manner.
Lift and move components and assemblies up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, including wiring and component installation.
Proficiency using hand and power tools, including power screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production documentation.
Ability to follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
Experience performing basic quality checks and identifying defects or non‑conformances.
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as required by the job.
Comfort using a tablet or computer for job orders and basic data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with mechanical assembly of frames, sub-assemblies, and enclosures.
Experience with electrical wiring, harness routing, cutting, stripping, crimping, and termination.
Experience in electrical assembly of control panels, circuit boards, or similar electronic assemblies.
Familiarity with production environments that require repetitive yet precise assembly operations.
Troubleshooting skills to help identify and resolve assembly or wiring issues.
Ability to work from pick tickets, process documentation, and verbal instructions.
General labor experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Work Environment
This is a production and assembly environment focused on mechanical and electrical systems for data center-related equipment. Standard shifts include 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., currently operating as 10-hour days, and 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., which will also move to 10-hour days, with the expectation of openness to overtime when needed. Work takes place at two facilities in the local area, using tablets or computers for job orders and documentation. The role involves frequent use of hand and power tools, repetitive assembly tasks, and regular lifting of components up to 50 lbs. You will work on a production floor environment where safety, accuracy, and adherence to procedures are essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simpsonville, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
