Robert Half Accounting Supervisor in Simi Valley, California
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Simi Valley, California. This role is essential in overseeing accounts payable and receivable operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the effective management of financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the aerospace manufacturing industry and a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, ensuring efficient operations and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company-specific accounting policies.
• Develop, implement, and refine systems, policies, and procedures to improve financial processes.
• Conduct thorough analysis of accounting systems, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure internal controls are established and functioning effectively to safeguard financial data.
• Oversee the preparation, recording, and reporting of accounting transactions, including month-end and year-end closings.
• Manage the selection, training, and development of accounting staff to build a high-performing team.
• Review industry trends and updates to ensure alignment with best practices in accounts payable and receivable.
• Participate in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses.
• Monitor attendance and ensure punctuality while addressing variable schedules as necessary. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable within the aerospace manufacturing sector.
• At least 2-3 years of supervisory or team management experience.
• Strong understanding of standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management tools.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial data and projections.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and task completion.
• Ability to train and develop subordinates in alignment with company policies and objectives.
