The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-time Student for Soil and Crop Systems team located in Silvis, IL you will:
Collaborate with SCS, product design and PV&V engineering teams to deliver DEM (EDEM software) and CFD (StarCCM) simulations to aid in design and testing decisions
Use CAD tools to develop new simulations and design test stands for improving correlation.
Visit local field sites to collect crop material for evaluation
Run tests in field and lab setting
Organize and analyze lab and simulation data
Responsible for communicating and maintaining good documentation.
This position NOT available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in a STEM field: Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Physics or similar. Others may apply.
Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited college/university.
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.
Available to work during the summer 30-40 hours/weekly.
Independent learner and problem solver.
Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later
Programming skills and experience with data analysis.
High School Graduate
Must be able to commute to the work location in Silvis on a daily basis, year-round
What Makes You Standout
Programming skills in Python or C++.
Course work and interest in physics, dynamic, and fluid dynamics
Experience with 3D modeling software (Creo preferred)
Strong people, relationship-building, and communication skills.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of teams and leaders
