Description:

The Genesis Silvis Medical Center Hospital Administrator oversees the daily operations, strategic planning, and resource management of the Silvis Medical Center. Additionally, key operational services include administrative support of MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center. This leadership role requires balancing clinical excellence with operational efficiency to ensure optimal patient care while maintaining financial stability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works primarily through direct reporting relationships and indirect “matrix” reporting relationships with leaders in clinical and support functions to ensure that patient care is properly supported at all sites.

  • Plans, organizes, directs and monitors the activities of all departments/service areas of the Silvis hospital and collaborates with market leaders of system provided services.

  • Responsible for ongoing assessment and improvement of the service lines performance based on, but not limited to, quality metrics and customer/colleague satisfaction data.

  • Supervises assigned management staff. Provides necessary education, orientation and support to the management team. Demonstrates effective leadership and delegation skills.

  • Develops annual operating and capital budgets, monitors and analyzes performance and productivity and implements necessary corrective plans. Collaborates with other departments in budget preparation, determining capital priorities, monitoring and analyzing trends. Effectively utilizes budget information in management decision-making.

  • Provides for the means and methods to ensure competent patient care to the patient populations served by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, using demonstrated knowledge, feedback and appropriately adapting procedures.

  • Supports and abides by all MercyOne policies, including safety policies and practices.

  • Represents MercyOne in service line joint ventures, as requested.

  • Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, other hospital departments and others. Actively participates on committees, in meetings and workgroups.

  • Serve as the administrative point of contact for MercyOne Genesis Silvis leaders, working within the matrixed leadership structure of Davenport & Silvis Medical Centers.

  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Silvis managers on the identification, prioritization and execution of business development opportunities and strategies for the Silvis Medical Center that promotes growth and sustainability.Partners with colleagues and physicians to develop and communicate strategies that strengthen overall financial and service performance.

  • Responsible for ensuring annual operating plan for public safety and emergency preparedness.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

  • Performs other responsibilities as requested by the COO, Eastern Division President or other designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, health care administration or nursing required Master’s degree preferred

  • 5 years management level experience in health care service line preferred

  • Administrative leadership experience desired
