The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer (Level 2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and design, with a focus on Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and networks. This role requires evening and weekday availability for watch floor responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Configuration and Maintenance:

  • Configure and maintain Cisco networks, including routers and switches.

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure network stability and performance.

  • Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.

  • Network Security:

  • Ensure the security of the network by implementing best practices and protocols.

  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and potential security threats.

  • Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and adjustments.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvements as needed.

  • Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless network operations.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in Engineering, an Engineering Discipline, or in a Technical Discipline is desired.

  • At least four (4) years of practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.

  • Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco networks.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues.

  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles and practices.

  • Experience in optimizing network performance.

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

  • Security+ CE (CompTIA Security+ with Continuing Education)

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Pay Range :

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$86,600 - $181,800
