The DNR is currently seeking to hire one (1) permanent, part-time (80%) General Maintenance Worker at Tettegouche State Park to perform custodial and maintenance. Days and hours of work will vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Clean assigned facilities so that all facilities are neat and sanitary for use by park guests and staff.
Perform light repairs and maintenance of park grounds, facilities, trails and buildings.
Provide litter and debris pickup on park grounds so that areas are neat, clean and safe for park guests’ use.
To operate trucks, pickups, tractors, trailers, lawnmowers, chain saws and miscellaneous tools and appliances to provide smooth safe park operations.
To perform specific tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used for cleaning sufficient to determine proper methods and use effectively and safely.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents, and soaps sufficient to handle, apply, and dispose of safely.
Knowledge of safety and accident prevention measures sufficient to identify safety hazards, make necessary repairs, and/or alert appropriate personnel.
Ability to read and understand written instructions on product labels, in safety manuals, operation manuals, etc.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to provide written information and instructions to the public and other employees.
Ability to effectively communicate with the public and other employees.
Organizational and interpersonal skills sufficient to work as a productive member of a team.
Ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment, power tools and hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year cleaning experience.
Knowledge of park rules, policies, facilities, and other local points of interest.
First Aid and CPR training.
Experience operating trucks, pickups, tractors, trailers, lawnmowers, chain saws, and miscellaneous tools and appliances to provide smooth, safe park operations.
Additional Requirements
This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver’s license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.
