Saint-Gobain Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in SHREVEPORT, Louisiana
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for inspecting equipment and components for damage and wear, utilizing gauges, measuring devices, and experience to determine any necessary actions.
Shift: 1st, 7:00am-3:00pm
Essential Duties:
Repair, adjust, and modify power transmission equipment
Repair, adjust, or replace pumps and supporting equipment
Fabricate and repair industrial equipment, including welding framework for repairs
Use general shop and hand tools as necessary
Assist line mechanics and electricians as necessary when needed to support production, including all of the above-listed tasks and other means of support as needed
Respond to unexpected after hour call outs for repair and support
Must be forklift and golf card certified
Maintain quality service by following organization standards
Maintain 5-S standards and housekeeping
Participate in continuous improvement projects and teams
Follow all safety training and documents for this site.
Ensure optimum operations of equipment by reporting needed maintenance
Report any and all quality-related issues to the Supervisor
Work with maintenance in finding issues with the machine(s)
Meet the department’s key objectives
Participate in Company's Safety program
Must understand and follow job specific SOP’s
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned consistent with the non-exempt functions.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two or more years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, measuring devices, and industrial machinery.
Any appropriate combination of academic and work experience.
Must complete the associated four-week training program(s)
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions in English.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as a Maintenance Mechanic.
Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance
Hand-eye coordination.
