Job Summary
The Major Projects – Continuous Improvement Lead (MP-CIL) is a leader in Vistra Energy’s fleet continuous improvement strategy. This role is a catalyst for change, driving high-impact initiatives by aligning creative ideas with strategic business goals and fostering collaborative environments. The MP-CIL is an OPI culture advocate across the fleet and seeks to understand innovative ideas consistent with a continuous improvement mindset and determines business cases to identify execution validity.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Supports the Director, OPI in driving a continuous improvement culture throughout the nuclear fleet by influencing, mentoring and providing leadership to Nuclear fleet leaders
Monitors business acumen improvement and learning opportunities for the OPI Leader team
Actively engages with major projects to enhance safety during implementation and work practices conducive to long term equipment reliability
Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Assist the OPI Leads and Vistra leadership in the development of annual OPI targets to ensure proper continuous improvement
Advises the Nuclear fleet team of continuous improvement process opportunities based on industry and fleet learnings and site cultural observations
Works closely with site leadership teams and the OR team to ensure successful implementation of OPI strategies, initiatives, and embed the desired culture and OPI mindset
Works with Nuclear fleet to ensure initiative owners (IO) are supported as they develop continuous improvement initiatives and business plans
Supports positive change for influencing OPI Culture maturation
Develop trusting relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
Proactively manage initiatives in the OPI database for the site and monitor KPIs for the site.
Assist site leaders in determining viability of project pursuance through depiction of costs and returns on investment
Assist site leaders in identifying and delivering cross functional cost reduction initiatives, often leading improvement-focused teams.
Assist site leadership in engagement of all employees to ensure sustained continuous improvement.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
High school diploma/GED equivalent required
BS in Industrial Engineering, Business or equivalent (preferred)
Leadership skills to include strong mentoring, training and coaching skills.
Must be a superior communicator with small and large groups of varying seniority across multiple organizations.
Experience in power generation preferred.
