Boedeker Plastics Class A CNC Machinist in Shiner, Texas

Class A CNC Machinist

Responsibilities:

Expert Machining Skills: Possesses a high level of proficiency in all aspects of machining, including blueprint reading, tool selection, best practice fixture design, job planning and setting manufacturing parameters.

Material Expertise: Understands the characteristics of different raw materials and how they affect machine operation and tooling choices. Having knowledge of plastics and polymers and the approaches and skill to make precision parts is key.

Multi-Machine Proficiency: Can operate and maintain various CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and potentially other specialized equipment. Must have knowledge of conventional milling, turning and other non-CNC machine tools.

Programming and G-Code: Can interpret and potentially write CNC programs using G-codes and other programming languages.

Tooling Knowledge: Proficient in selecting, using, and optimizing tooling, including specialized tooling like form tools and endmills.

Feeds and Speeds: Expert in determining optimal feeds and speeds for various materials and operations to achieve desired finishes and productivity to meet the customers expectations.

Quality Control: Maintains a high level of quality control, minimizing scrap rates and ensuring parts meet strict tight tolerances. Have a high level of understanding of precision hand and electronic measuring tools including Quick Scopes and CMM machines.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDandT): Familiar with GDandT principles and can interpret and apply them to ensure accurate part production.

Problem-Solving: Can diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues and find solutions to ensure smooth operation.

Safety: Adheres to strict safety protocols and procedures when operating CNC machines.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Overtime as needed for customer support.

Flexible for overtime as needed

Must have good communication skills to be able to speak with customers and provide efficiency and re-design suggestions.

DFM skills would be also a value to our Team.

Must have basic personal toolbox/tools and measuring tools, subject to incoming and outgoing inspection.

Education:

Trade school or an associate's degree in CNC machining or a related field; participated in a company sponsored apprenticeship program; or equivalent experience.

Experience in the trade: 1-4 years
