Basic purpose of the job
Drive the execution of commodity strategies on R/OPU level and manage sourcing activities for specific, centralized or center-led, commodities, negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Responsible for overseeing the sourcing process within the allocated commodities Perform business partnering with the relevant stakeholders within the commodity, coordinates with Category Managers to provide feedback and support on commodity specific strategies and operational issues.
Implement the sourcing strategy for the centralized or center-led commodities in line with the overall company sourcing strategy to constantly increase productivity, optimize external global spend, and reduce costs.
Accountabilities
Spend Management and Consolidation:
Collaborate with Category Management and provide input to create and refine global Category Strategies. Implement Commodity Strategy on local level following the Target Operating Model (TOM) including, creating and optimizing Sourcing Cards, documenting savings and identifying potential efficiencies.
Execute sourcing activities within the markets as identifying and driving projects across commodities within their responsibility to achieve Sourcing-relevant goals like automation, spend consolidation and supplier optimization.Continuously leverage market opportunities and bring strong negotiation skills to add value for the business while maximizing implementation and usage of Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and Frame Services Agreements (FSAs).
Optimize sourcing processes within assigned commodities to achieve cost savings and improve logistical efficiency. Related performance indicators
Measure and track performance against key sourcing metrics, including, for example, automation efficiency.
Progress on the consolidation roadmap. Develop and update the category strategy to optimize spend and align with business and local market needs. Ensure strict adherence to the global category strategy implementation.
Business Partnering:
Understand and promote the Strategy and the Value proposition of Sourcing towards Business Partners, aligning and sharing sourcing priorities with Business Partners to achieve Sourcing-relevant goals through advanced Sourcing Excellence.
Collaborate with local Business Partners to ensure procurement activities align with their needs and the company’s overall goals; setting joint targets, aligning sourcing projects while understanding business strategies and demand forecast to proactively drive improvements. Ensure that the strategy and value proposition of sourcing are clearly understood and embraced by business partners.
Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with business partners.
Facilitate early involvement of sourcing in demand collection and escalation management, ensuring smooth and collaborative processes.
Foster a mutual understanding and alignment of priorities between sourcing and business partners.
Support business partners in achieving their priorities by executing sourcing excellence in spend and supplier management, as well as governance support.
Supplier and Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing activities in low-complexity or centralized categories, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, focusing on contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and resolving issues at an early stage.
Actively support or partially conduct support Business Review meetings focused on market intelligence and innovation, while also identifying, mapping, and evaluating sourcing risks to develop risk mitigation plans ensuring business continuity and minimizing risks. Related performance indicators
Identify, report, monitor, and mitigate risks with a comprehensive action plan in place.
Regularly execute the supplier life cycle performance concept to ensure optimal supplier performance.
Regulatory and / or Organisational Requirements
Ensure compliance with mandatory SOP’s including GxP requirements.
Act at all times within the local pharmaceutical standards/ethics/legal
Report all adverse events to the local PV within the required timelines.
Follow all company procedures and processes with respect to Finance, HR, IT, etc.
Manages day to day issues related to the assigned commodities, coordinating with internal/external partners to address and resolve sourcing challenges effectively.
Manages specific, centralized, or center-led commodities , focusing on commodities strategies with medium financial spend.
Oversees straightforward supplier relationships, focusing on daily contract negotiations and issue resolution to maintain supplier performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Interfaces

Minimum Education/Degree Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or a related field.
Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)
Multiple years of experience in category management, procurement, or a related field, with knowledge of strategic leadership and supplier management.
