Job Title: Electrical Assembly Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician with expertise in electro-mechanical assembly and proficiency with hand tools. This role involves working with both soldering and crimp contact crimping, ideally to the IPC-620 standard. The candidate will be involved in assembling components and handling repetitive tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and safely assemble electromechanical assemblies in accordance with drawings, written, or verbal instructions.

  • Perform tasks such as stripping, crimping, and splicing electrical wires, and building mechanical subassemblies using various fastening methods.

  • Torque fasteners to the proper specifications and in the correct sequence.

  • Route cables and secure wiring throughout systems.

  • Properly attach labels or name plates to assemblies, components, or cables.

  • Measure dimensions to verify the proper clearance of parts.

  • Safely use standard assembly tools including hex wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, wire strippers, and torque tools.

  • Use appropriate tooling and fixtures to aid in proper assembly.

  • Read and understand electrical schematics.

  • Inspect and test subassemblies for mechanical functionality and electrical continuity using a voltmeter.

  • Read and understand the bill of material structure and escalate errors or discrepancies to appropriate personnel.

  • Visually inspect components for flaws or damage and escalate issues as needed.

  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks such as packaging finished goods, material handling, warehouse cleanup, and organization.

  • Maintain commitment to quality and safety, participating in continuous improvement activities and the 5S program.

  • Communicate ideas and facts in a professional manner to all stakeholders.

  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks and possess manual dexterity to assemble parts quickly and accurately.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of mechanical assembly or building experience.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.

  • Capability of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

  • Familiarity with soldering and crimping to IPC-620 standard is advantageous.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sherwood, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
