CNC Machinist

Located in Sherman, TX

Salary: $24/hr

Express Employment Professionals is seeking applicants for a CNC Machinist position for a company! We are a full-service Staffing Firm where we work with companies in East Texas that have full-time, part-time and temporary. Since we cannot guarantee placement, there is no fee for using our services!

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze specification charts, drawings, and samples to fully understand part requirements.
• Develop manufacturing plans and set up procedures to meet specifications.
• Measure and mark raw materials for machining.
• Set up and operate CNC Lathes and Mills, ensuring all steps follow the manufacturing plan.
• Write, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-codemust be fluent in G-code.
• Monitor machining processes and intervene when problems arise.
• Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gages) to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, defects, or flaws.
• Maintain and clean machines and tools throughout the shop.
• Follow all shop safety protocols and standards consistently.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience operating CNC Lathes and CNC Mills
• Strong understanding of G-code programming (writing/editing required)
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints
• Skilled in using calipers, micrometers (OD, ID, radial), dial indicators, machinist's squares, rulers, gages, and deburring tools
• Excellent understanding of measurement techniques and quality control
• Ability to identify issues in production and make necessary adjustments independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal CNC training or certification
• Prior experience in a precision machining or job shop environment
• Familiarity with advanced CNC software or CAM tools (optional)
