AXE BUILD LLC Machine Operator - Steel Fabrication in Sheridan, Wyoming
We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our steel fabrication facility. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and process steel components according to specifications, ensuring quality output while maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate steel fabrication equipment including Voortman Beam Line, plasma cutters, shears, press brakes, punches, saws, and other cutting and forming machinery
- Set up machines according to job specifications, including selecting proper tooling and programming when required
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications to determine fabrication requirements
- Measure and verify dimensions of fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision instruments
- Perform material handling tasks including loading steel plate, sheet metal, beams, and other structural materials
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as blade changes, lubrication, and cleaning
- Document production data including piece counts, material usage, and machine downtime
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety regulations including lockout/tagout procedures
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines
