    The Shenandoah Community School District is seeking qualified application for an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Coaching Authorization or Coaching Endorsement from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners prior to the start of the season. Candidates need to be able to create a flexible program, establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for students, in accordance with each pupil's ability; and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

    The Mission

    We're looking for a high-energy practitioner who understands that elite performance is a blend of hard science and human connection. As our Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach , you will be a pivotal force in developing our athletes' physical potential, reducing injury risk, and fostering a culture of relentless improvement.

    You'll work directly under the Head Strength Coach to implement periodized programs that transform "potential" into "podiums."

    Key Responsibilities

  • Program Execution: Lead and supervise daily strength and conditioning sessions for assigned sport teams, ensuring technical proficiency and safety in all movements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Sports Medicine and Athletic Training staff to modify programs for injured athletes and ensure a seamless "return to play" pipeline.

  • Facility Management: Maintain a world-class training environment. This includes equipment upkeep, organizational flow, and ensuring the weight room reflects our professional standards.

  • Education: Empower athletes with knowledge regarding recovery, nutrition, and lifestyle habits that support high-level performance.
