Logan Health Facilities Technician | Shelby Plant Operations (CAH) in Shelby, Montana
This position performs a variety of functions to buildings, equipment, and grounds maintenance throughout Logan Health’s (LH) facilities, outbuildings, jobsites and affiliates.

Logan Health is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our Plant Operations team in Shelby, Montana. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Facilities Technician performs a wide range of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance duties across facility systems, equipment, and grounds while ensuring compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards. Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in general maintenance, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical work preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of one (1) of the following is required, depending on work location and job applicability:
Montana State Boiler License
EPA Certification
Current driver’s license
Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect major driving offenses, including but not limited to DUI, suspended license, felony involving a motor vehicle, or three or more moving violations.
If using a personal vehicle for Logan Health business, state minimum liability coverage is required.
For fitness facility-related assignments:
Certified Pool/Spa Operator License
AED certification within ninety (90) days of hire
Proven ability in skilled trades related to facility and grounds maintenance, repairs, procedures, and techniques preferred.
Ability to operate a wide variety of machinery, equipment, and tools used in facility and grounds maintenance preferred.
Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety standards established by agencies such as OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and ASHRAE preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential situations with professionalism and discretion.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with maintenance management software and smartphones preferred.
Job Duties
Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Maintain and repair building systems and equipment, including but not limited to:
electrical
plumbing
heating and air conditioning
refrigeration
boilers
lighting
carpentry
flooring
vehicles
life safety equipment
laundry equipment
pool/spa systems, as applicable
Perform pest management duties and pesticide applications as needed.
Safely operate, clean, secure, service, and store assigned vehicles, machinery, equipment, and tools.
Use time, products, and materials efficiently while supporting labor and material cost control.
Take initiative in completing repair and maintenance assignments with minimal direct supervision.
Serve as a point of coordination for outside vendors and contractors, as applicable.
Assemble furniture and assist with office and staff relocations.
Assist with snow removal around facilities and outbuildings.
Perform flooring installation, minor carpentry, framing, sheet rocking, door installation, patching, painting, and hanging of miscellaneous items as needed.
Continue ongoing education to stay current with new technology, equipment updates, retrofits, and code changes.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
