As a production worker employee you will be primarily working with raw product that requires further processing such as grinding, cutting, shaving, seasoning, and packaging.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sanitize all materials and processing equipment at the beginning of each shift and during shift as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for food preparation, processing, storage and packaging. Dispose of trash, cardboard and food scraps appropriately.
- Safely and correctly set-up, operate and disassemble food processing equipment.
- Follow all of company policies, standard operating procedures, written instructions and product specifications.
- Report any issues or concerns that may impact food safety or quality.
- Load/unload raw materials into processing equipment such as grinders, tumblers, slicers, stuffers, etc.
- Learn from superiors, look for improvement opportunities and work with your team to increase efficiency, reduce scrap and improve production yields.
- Verify that each finished item meets the quality standards of the company and matches product specs.
- Label, store, package finished product per internal procedures.
- Maintain segregation of allergens and product grades (i.e. organic, ABF free, grass fed, cook-only).
- Regularly check product temperatures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with research and development of new products, equipment, and processes.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as specified by superiors.
Job Qualifications & Requirements:
- Completion of a high school diploma or GED program preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow all appropriate safety standards in food production.
- Knowledge of basic math, reading comprehension and writing skills.
- Experience working in food production environment or mechanical equipment preferred.
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, work well in a team environment and communicates effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and stand for entirety of shift.
Work Environment:
- Hourly position, regularly requires overtime (40+ hour position)
- Shift will be spent standing.
- Temperatures at or below 50F.
- Production Environment includes the following:
- Slippery floors
- Cleaning chemicals
- Industrial equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Sharp objects (knives, hooks, blades, etc.)
- Safety gear, personal protective equipment, and training is provided to limit known hazards.
