Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler performs precise mechanical assembly of subassemblies and large components for OEM equipment, working both independently and as part of a team. This role reads and follows entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other manufacturing instructions to build and assemble parts and equipment accurately and on time, while using a variety of measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment in a clean, well-lit production environment.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components according to engineering and production requirements.
Work independently and in team settings within assigned work areas to complete OEM assemblies safely and efficiently.
Read and interpret entry-level blueprints, 2D and 3D prints, shop orders, specifications, and other written instructions to assemble parts and equipment accurately.
Measure parts using scales, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring devices to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Utilize overhead cranes and follow proper rigging procedures to move, position, and secure large or heavy components.
Use hand tools, power tools, and basic machine tools such as drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws to perform assembly tasks.
Verify that completed assemblies meet quality standards and specifications, identifying and reporting any nonconformances or issues.
Maintain an organized and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate work and resolve assembly issues.
Follow production schedules and instructions to complete work in a timely manner while meeting quality and safety expectations.
Essential Skills
Mechanical assembly experience with subassemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, including 2D and 3D prints, as well as shop orders and manufacturing instructions.
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
Experience using overhead cranes and applying proper rigging procedures.
Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.
Knowledge and ability to use basic machine tools such as drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws.
Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and metric system conversions.
Ability to work independently with limited training and minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production environment.
Good oral and written communication skills to interact with coworkers and follow written instructions accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ownership of a personal set of basic mechanical tools suitable for assembly work.
in electro-mechanical assembly or exposure to electro-mechanical components.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Comfort working with newly engineered and custom equipment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, well-lit production facility working on new and newly engineered equipment. The standard schedule is a first-shift assignment from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed to meet production demands. Work involves hands-on mechanical assembly using hand tools, power tools, basic machine tools, precision measuring instruments, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment in a shop environment. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
