Job Title: First or Second Shift Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and large components for OEM equipment. You will read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions, use precision measuring tools, and operate various hand and power tools to build equipment accurately and efficiently. The position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components according to specifications.
Work independently and in teams within a designated work area to complete OEM assemblies on schedule.
Read and follow entry-level blueprints, 2D and 3D prints, shop orders, specifications, and other written instructions to build and assemble parts and equipment accurately.
Measure parts precisely using scales, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Utilize overhead cranes and rigging procedures to safely move and position parts and assemblies.
Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools such as drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws to complete assembly tasks.
Perform basic mathematical calculations, including metric conversions, to support accurate assembly and measurement.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and quality guidelines.
Communicate effectively with team members and other employees to coordinate work and resolve issues.
Work with limited training and supervision while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
Essential Skills
Experience in mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components.
Ability to read and understand entry-level blueprints, 2D and 3D prints, and other manufacturing instructions.
Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
Experience using rigging equipment and overhead cranes to move and position parts safely.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Experience operating basic machine tools such as drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws.
Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and perform metric system conversions.
Ability to work independently with limited training and minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers.
Good oral and written communication skills to follow instructions and interact with employees.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Possession of a personal set of basic mechanical and hand tools.
Experience in machine building or equipment assembly.
Comfort working from both 2D and 3D engineering prints.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Willingness to work overtime when available.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, well-lit manufacturing facility focused on new and newly engineered equipment. The position is on second shift, typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with overtime available as needed. You will work with mechanical assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools such as drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws, as well as overhead cranes and rigging equipment. Work is performed in a production floor setting where appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing environment is expected.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
