Aston Carter Buyer in Sharonville, Ohio

A well-established, growth-oriented manufacturing company is seeking a Buyer to support day-to-day procurement operations and supplier management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials are available to support production schedules while maintaining cost, quality, and inventory objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review MRP requirements daily and place timely purchase orders to support manufacturing schedules

  • Manage the full purchase order lifecycle — from creation and review through receipt and final payment

  • Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial supplier relationships

  • Maintain inventory levels aligned with company inventory strategies and Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) targets

  • Support receiving activities by ensuring all required supplier documentation is complete prior to delivery

  • Lead and manage RFQ processes for assigned materials and suppliers

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure cost-effective procurement across MRO, non-stock, and Kanban-based items

  • Work cross-functionally with Quality to establish supplier specifications and quality standards

  • Support material defect investigations and CAPA activities in collaboration with Quality and suppliers

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery

  • Assist leadership in identifying supply chain risks and developing contingency plans

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on supplier performance metrics

  • Partner with Warehouse and Accounting teams to resolve receiving and invoicing variances

  • Leverage data and analytics to support procurement dashboards and KPI reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of related purchasing or supply chain experience

  • OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing logic

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments preferred

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharonville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.57 - $35.57/hr.
