Amazon Web Services (AWS) OpenSearch team is recruiting engineering interns for multiple specializations. OpenSearch is an open-source search and data analysis suite designed to build solutions for data-intensive applications, featuring high-performance, developer-friendly tools with powerful machine learning and data processing capabilities. It provides flexible data exploration, enrichment, and visualization features to help customers discover valuable information from complex data
Key job responsibilities
During this internship, you will have the opportunity to:
Software Development
Develop high-quality, secure, maintainable code using Java/Kotlin and React/TypeScript/JavaScript
Design scalable, fault-tolerant distributed storage, indexing, and query systems
Build distributed systems for high-speed, large-scale predictions
Understand Lucene search engine principles and applications
AI Integration
Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to boost search relevancy and performance
Contribute to our agent framework by advancing context management and skill service capabilities that enable automatic intelligent data analysis and optimize user interactions.
Development Lifecycle
Practice product development, deployment, security review, and release processes
Participate in requirement discussions and propose technical solutions
Learn AWS cloud services
Collaboration
Work with global development teams on code development and review
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and launch innovative products
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or related majors
Graduation date: November 2026 - July 2027
Available for minimum 6-month internship
Proficient in Java/Python/C++/JavaScript/TypeScript
Solid foundation in algorithms and data structures
Strong English reading and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous technical internship or project experience
Experience with agent frameworks
Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases
Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimization)
Verbal proficiency in English
