Sanofi Group Medical - Head of Patient Affair and Diagnostics - Shanghai in Shanghai, China
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Leadership
Lead and act as Sanofi Patient Affair & Diagnostics Champion and Advocate. Demonstrate leadership as a member of the Medical Affairs leadership team.
Drive best-in-class patient experience and Sanofi Diagnostics ambition, foster Sanofi unique value proposition to patients and ecosystem key stakeholders.
Support Sanofi launch excellence covering pre- and post-launch stages with integrated Patient Affair & Diagnostics offerings.
Crystallize Sanofi Patient Affair & Diagnostics organization mission, strategy and org resources, incl. partnership, diagnostics, service, and access to achieve scientific leadership and impact to patients.
Establish a strong medical Patient Affair & Diagnostics team, drive org modernization and demonstrate org value endorsed by external partnership and internal stakeholders.
Ensure appropriate scientific and medical compliance, governance and risk management within the framework of optimized patient centered risk/benefit in the responsible tasks.
The role will internally interface with medical leadership and cross-functional lead as Patient Affair & Diagnostics advocate and primary contact person and externally with ecosystem key stakeholders to build rapport and win-win partnership.
2) Patient Affair & Diagnostics Strategy Development
Crystallize Sanofi Patient Affair & Diagnostics organization mission, strategy and org resources
Lead the strategy formulation and prioritized unmet need identification of partnership, diagnostics, service and access, to meet Sanofi overall business strategic ambitions.
Continuously improve the patient affair strategy and drive synergy horizontally and vertically among each TAs
Collaborate transversally to achieve scientific leadership, impact to patients.
Explore the patient insight generation support.
Stay agile for innovation and digitalization.
3) Partnership
Directs the execution of Patient Affair & Diagnostics business development strategy, plans and processes.
Identify, evaluate, oversee the development of new partners to support Sanofi new product launch and existing portfolio operation excellence, incl. but not limiting to screening, diagnosis, monitoring and service. Lead the partner collaboration proposal, contracts development and negotiation processes.
Establish and manage win-win partnerships, e.g., PAGs, in vitro diagnostics players, MSAs, to achieve Sanofi patient & business goals, while always maintaining our compliance standards.
Build Sanofi China Patient Affair & Diagnostics ecosystem.
Monitor the industry landscape and expand relationship for new partnership setup
4) Diagnostics
Reevaluate and identify Sanofi current and future business opportunities in Diagnostics, incl. but not limiting to screening, testing, monitoring, etc.
Formulate the integrated and innovative proposal to leadership and obtain the endorsement.
Satisfy the unmet needs in patient diagnostics area with continuous improvement in impact, operation efficiency and compliance.
5) Service
Drive an impact-based approach to developing service initiatives, incl. patient education programs, patient support programs, etc., by leveraging insights form patients, doctors, partners and the healthcare environment to guide our strategies.
Continuously innovate the service offerings to best meet patient unmet needs and Sanofi business strategy.
Explore the synergy across Patient Affair & Diagnostics scope, esp. between Diagnostics and Service.
6) Access
Provide pre- and/or post- product access to patients upon requests while strictly following Sanofi internal SOPs, incl. MAP, PRIL, Humanitarian related. Explore the local landing implementation by taking into consideration of Sanofi requirements, China regulations and patient unmet needs.
Act as global vocal point regarding local access governance.
7) Execution excellence
Establish clear metrics to measure the success of operational initiatives.
Regularly report on these operational initiatives to key stakeholders
Initiative continuous improvement activities to make our operations more streamlined, effective and efficient.
Ensure all team members are clear on their accountabilities & set up to succeed on delivery.
JOB-HOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Master or other advanced healthcare degrees are preferred. MBA is a plus.
Experience & knowledge:
10+ years’ experience in medical affairs or commercial function in pharmaceutical and device industry.
Proven experience in patient affairs and/or diagnostics is essential; additional background in strategic consulting, management, business development, or marketing and sales will be considered a strong asset.
Project management/project planning experience on large, complex projects.
At least 3 years people management experience.
