COLSA Corporation Tactical Integration Test Engineer in Shalimar, Florida
Our tactical integration test team is searching for new test engineer professionals that can help us design and execute test events. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide several opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.
We realize that no one will have all these qualifications. We are looking for people that have a system engineering foundation and have the drive and motivation to learn all other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from customized test configurations to lab infrastructure support.
This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB as a member of a tactical integration team responsible for planning, designing, and executing test events for tactical integration programs. This position includes the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform as a member of the 46 TS Tactical Integration Element (TIE) Test team.
Interface directly with System Program Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs as well as product development contractors.
Maintain a good working knowledge of datalink systems including Common Data Link (CDL), Link 16, Situation Awareness Data Link (SADL), Integrated Data Modem (IDM), Remotely Operated Vehicle for Emplacement & Reconnaissance (ROVER), Tactical Assault Kits (TAK) to include WARHAWK, TRAX, Air Force Special Warfare and other like-systems.
Operate datalink systems/equipment/protocols to include Link 16, J series messages, Variable Message Format (VMF), and Cursor on Target Systems (CoT), Video Datalinks (VDL), Mobile Ad hoc Networking (MANET) and various other joint and coalition capabilities.
Configure and operate Small Tactical Terminals (STT) and MIDS JTRS terminals, PRC-161, PRC-117G, PRC-152A, PRC-163, PRC-167, PRC-160, SADL, ROVER radios etc.
As a technical leader in an engineering role, review customer requirements and participate in test planning meetings.
Develop test plans and procedures, schedules, and execute a test within the constraints of customer requirements and produce timely test reports.
Capable of performing as a team leader in directing and executing system testing.
Author technical documents and briefings and conduct formal presentations.
Travel to locations, as required, to conduct tests, collect and reduce data.
Any other related duties as directed.

Required SkillsRequired Experience
Required:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
Bachelors Degree in a STEM field and 3 to 5 years of applicable experience
Associates Degree in a STEM field and 7 to 9 years of applicable experience
High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10 to 13 years of applicable experience
U.S. Citizenship required; Current and active DOD Secret (or higher) Clearance with the ability to qualify for a Top Secret Clearance
Current CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification
Experience configuring, operating and troubleshooting Link 16, SADL, VMF and BLOS tactical data links
Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally
Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 25% of the time
Strong work ethic
Comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision
Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Able to evaluate tactical communications emerging technologies
Technical experience in the areas related to radio frequency waves/propagation, and ad hoc computer networks
Experience and knowledge of tactical datalink mission threads
Proficiency with Microsoft Operating Systems
Understanding of DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force Command and Control (C2) test methodologies including AFI 99-103, Capabilities Based Test and Evaluation
Knowledge of systems analysis and application software development concepts, functions, and techniques
Good understanding of basic computer networking
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance adjudicated in last 5 years
