Summary:
Universal Product & Experiences’ New Business Development & Franchise Strategy team drives the global vision and strategic development and execution of new business, franchise strategy, and marketing plans to cultivate brand growth and drive revenue throughout the franchise ecosystem. The Director, Business Development & Franchise Strategy is responsible for leading the growth and development of NBCUniversal properties into global franchises. Key functions include long term strategic planning for priority IP, ideation and execution of new business models, and creation of innovative marketing plans that maximize NBCU IP cross-company, ensure long-term success, and ultimately drive revenue and brand value for NBCUniversal. Reports directly to Managing Director, UP&E Korea.
Responsibilities include:
New Business Development & Franchise Strategy
Develop strategic Korea business plans for new business (Retail, Gaming, Experience, and digital) franchises and guide implementation to drive CP revenue and build brands.
Partner with Category/Product development team planning considering lifecycle, revenue potential, portfolio fit and long-term proposition
Define brand portfolio strategy while working to identify new opportunities across key demographics and platforms
Lead development of bridge content and digital/social strategies to manage lifecycle for franchise
Serve as a thought leader to drive innovation with new business models, unique partnership and first of its kind go to market strategies
Oversee the analysis and tracking of relevant metrics to support business case modelling and scenarios
Develop and execute territory specific franchise marketing activations, to support UP&E while creating demand value and awareness
Develop cross-divisional symphony programs (both marketing and PR) with other NBC Universal business units.
Partner with Franchise Management (Global and Regional) to guide implementation of franchise strategies and local needs
Inspire licensee and retailers through engaging brand and retail presentations
Attend top-tier retail and licensee meetings (i.e. master toy partner) in region, to share brand and retail plans
Plan screenings for licensees and retailers as required
Manage location & experience-based activations in markets
Responsible for overseeing presentation support and coordination of all events in region (summits, KPM’s, trade shows,) from conceptualisation to execution
Collaborate with global events team to secure required event assets via the events tool kit, including invitation templates, banners, etc. Work with global marketing team to secure required presentations

Basic Requirements:
Proven and successful background in Brand Marketing & Management. Media & Entertainment experience a plus
Excellent strategic planning, analytics and brand development skills
Experience in translating qualitative/quantitative data into insights that tell stories to a variety of audiences
Great ability to interact with senior leadership and key stakeholders
Native Korean speaker, with excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills in English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly collaborative working style
Deep knowledge of retail business including retail marketing tactics, promotional partners/packaged goods and consumer products
Relationship builder
