The Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) ensures all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency and reliability. This role executes planned preventative maintenance and daily corrective work while providing emergency response to critical facility events.

The EOT serves as a technical resource, working closely with the Data Center Chief Engineer and collaborating with third-party vendors to maintain seamless facility operations. As a leased site in the ICN Cluster, the EOT plays a crucial role in establishing operational excellence and building foundational processes for this new facility. You will contribute to all facility operations and help set the standard for future leased sites within the cluster.

The EOT supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability, reduce operational costs, and drive innovation in facility management. This includes participating in root cause analysis, contributing to technical documentation, and implementing best practices from across the AWS global data center network.

AWS DCEO팀은 경력 단절 후 재취업을 희망하는 분들 또는 IT 분야로의 커리어 전환을 원하는 분들을 위한 Enhanced Career Re-start 프로그램을 운영합니다. 본 프로그램은 6주 계약직으로 진행되며, 근무 기간 동안 데이터센터 관련 교육, 실습 및 멘토링 등 체계적인 교육 프로그램을 통해 본인의 전문성을 다시 한번 발휘하거나 새로운 직무를 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 프로그램 종료 시점에 평가를 통해 Data Center Engineering Operations Technician로 정규직 채용될 기회를 제공받을 수 있으며, AWS와 함께 새로운 시작을 만들어갈 분들의 많은 관심 바랍니다.

Key job responsibilities

• Maintain 24/7 operations coverage with flexible scheduling, including rotating shifts

• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

• Operate electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Generators, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans.

• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)

• Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)

• Manage routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems

• Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently

• Serve as escalation point and provide technical troubleshooting for all environmental and facility issues

• Participate in Data Center power and cooling events

• Handle and lift equipment manually when required (weight limits follow regulations)

• Follow and maintain the highest safety standards while encouraging a world-class safety culture

• Participate in emergency drills and support emergency facility event response according to established protocols

• Manage procurement for DCEO related expenditure

• Responsible for asset and inventory management

• Perform replacement of internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices

• 내부 서비스 수준 협약(SLA) 내에서 이벤트 문제 해결

• 중요 시스템의 정기 유지보수 및 긴급 서비스 관리

• 장애 티켓의 우선순위 지정 및 효율적 해결을 통한 높은 시스템 신뢰성 유지

• 모든 환경 및 시설 문제에 대한 에스컬레이션 포인트 및 기술 문제 해결 지원 제공

• 데이터 센터 전력 및 냉각 이벤트 참여

• 필요 시 장비 수동 취급 및 운반(중량 제한은 규정 준수)

• 세계 수준의 안전 문화를 장려하면서 최고 수준의 안전 기준 준수 및 유지

• 비상 훈련 참여 및 확립된 프로토콜에 따른 긴급 시설 이벤트 대응 지원

• DCEO 관련 지출에 대한 조달 관리

• 자산 및 재고 관리 책임

• 서버 및 네트워크 장비의 내부 및 외부 하드웨어 부품 교체 수행

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's degree

• Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory

• Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center engineering experience
