  • Provide courteous, professional customer service; handle phone inquiries promptly.

  • Collect blood samples (venipuncture, heelstick, fingerstick) and guide patients on self‑collection when needed; may collect non‑blood specimens.

  • Use sound judgment, prioritize well, and work dependably.

  • Collect and transport specimens on‑site and off‑site following all safety procedures.

  • Follow all lab and hospital policies, including quality, safety, hand hygiene, and compliance.

  • Perform clerical tasks and use computer systems to enter patient info, place/cancel orders, and manage charges accurately.

  • Train and orient new staff, students, or residents as assigned.

  • Report unusual or problematic incidents to technical or supervisory staff.

  • Perform arterial punctures when required and follow strict guidelines.

  • Maintain supplies and use materials efficiently.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and lab information systems preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Phlebotomy Technician certification (PBT(ASCP) or equivalent) preferred.
