As a Assistant Purchasing Manager you’ll be part of our SEF Malaysia Operations team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to be:

  • Assist Purchasing Manager to lead the purchasing team and being a game changer challenge the status quo with the aim of continuing improvement in terms of overall competitiveness (cost, service, quality) cross spend categories in scope.

  • Assist to execute purchasing team roadmap and strategy in line with purchasing goals and strategies, include also managing supply risks to ensure undisruptive productions.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

  • Monitor regular performance reviews (purchasing team & suppliers) and provide constructive feedback.

  • Assist in building and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including plant manager and department heads.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and report on purchasing expenditure and savings.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement contingency plans.

  • Monitoring on demand purchase of core raw materials (e.g. metal wire, Tooling).   • Good product knowledge & understanding of market trends in related Industry

  • Good knowledge of sourcing techniques & strategies, negotiating vendor, managing inventories, value-added vendor benefits

  • Proficient in English & Chinese communication, able to communicate fluently with people from worldwide & local vendors

  • Superior people that demonstrate ability to lead, establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships

  • Strong project management, negotiation, interpersonal communication, organizational & presentation skills

  • Ability to institute quality management concepts, process improvement and change management

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful YOY productivity projects & supplier development

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated and possess ability to handle / prioritize multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ambition to provide significant contribution for the growth of the Company

  • Superior presentation, planning, organizational, project management and purchasing negotiation skills

  • BS or MS degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field, EMBA is a plus

  • 10 + yrs solid merchandising experiences in the related industry
