Actalent Senior Chemist in Seminole, Florida

Job Title: Senior ChemistJob Description

Join our team as a Senior Chemist where you will play a crucial role in method validation, development, and creation within the nutritional, nutraceutical, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industry. This position offers an opportunity to leverage your expertise in GC, HPLC, and leadership in a dynamic and fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide QC support for general testing and administrative support for raw materials and finished products.

  • Follow pertinent SOPs to ensure cGMP compliance.

  • Create new testing methods.

  • Independently test, develop, and implement assays for the identification and characterization of raw materials, pre-capsulation, stability, and finished products.

  • Analyze data, document results, and maintain laboratory notebook according to cGMP and internal guidelines.

  • Write and execute validation protocols and reports per current industry standards.

  • Stay updated with literature in the field and help train colleagues.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the group.

  • Comply with FDA, EPA, and OSHA regulations, performing all work safely.

  • Maintain proper records in accordance with all SOPs and policies.

  • Analyze finished products, in-process materials, raw materials, and cleaning verification and validation samples according to assigned specifications, methods, and protocols.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in the nutritional, nutraceutical, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience with method validation, development, and creation.

  • Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, ICP-MS.

  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, USP, ICH, and related quality guidelines.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and guide staff effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or related scientific discipline from an accredited 4-year college/university.

  • Experience with writing methods and evaluating methods for validation potential.

  • Extensive knowledge of USP and ICH guidelines.

  • Familiarity with HPLC, GC, NIR, water activity, UV-Vis, ICP-MS/AA, and other pertinent instrumentation.

  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. The team consists of 3 Associate Chemists, 1 Chemist, and 1 Microbiologist. We foster a culture that values teamwork, a positive attitude, and a fast-paced work style.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seminole, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.86/hr.
