Southland Industries Driver II in Selma, Texas
Position Summary
Responsible for safely and efficiently dropping off/picking up materials from various vendors and construction sites.
Roles and Responsibilities
Drives delivery trucks to job sites and company destinations. Properly secures and straps down materials safe delivery.
Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, stages, transports tools, supplies and equipment by hand or using dolly and/or forklift.
Maintains vehicle cleanliness and reports any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
Maintains work area in clean and organized fashion.
Plans efficient routes and ensures proper and safe stocking of vehicle.
Maintains accurate delivery documentation and ensures all paperwork is completed properly.
Performs daily pre-trip inspection of vehicle. Maintains vehicle and equipment maintenance history.
May provide guidance to junior staff.
Qualifications
Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move products using a pallet jack and/or forklift
Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical projects and related tools and equipment
Ability to communicate effectively
Good customer-service skills
Strong attention to and respect for safety rules and regulations
Ability to work efficiently in the warehouse and at the construction site
