Southland Industries Driver II in Selma, Texas

Position Summary

Responsible for safely and efficiently dropping off/picking up materials from various vendors and construction sites.​​

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drives delivery trucks to job sites and company destinations. Properly secures and straps down materials safe delivery.

  • ​Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, stages, transports tools, supplies and equipment by hand or using dolly and/or forklift.

  • ​Maintains vehicle cleanliness and reports any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.

  • ​Maintains work area in clean and organized fashion.

  • ​Plans efficient routes and ensures proper and safe stocking of vehicle.

  • ​Maintains accurate delivery documentation and ensures all paperwork is completed properly.

  • ​Performs daily pre-trip inspection of vehicle. Maintains vehicle and equipment maintenance history.

  • ​May provide guidance to junior staff. ​​

Qualifications

  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle

  • ​Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move products using a pallet jack and/or forklift

  • ​Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical projects and related tools and equipment

  • ​Ability to communicate effectively

  • ​Good customer-service skills

  • ​Strong attention to and respect for safety rules and regulations

  • ​Ability to work efficiently in the warehouse and at the construction site​
