The Welder is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. The Welder, under direct supervision by Team Leader or Supervisor, welds non-critical fabricated parts and subassemblies as specified by blueprints, layouts or welding procedures. Welds are performed on non-critical parts or subassemblies where cosmetics may not be a factor.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings
Adjusts and operates welding equipment to perform non-critical welds on fabricated parts and subassemblies. Maintains production quantities, efficiencies and quality on parts welded
Loads fabricated parts or subassemblies into jigs and fixtures. Prepares the surface to be welded by grinding, buffing or brushing so the weld can be performed. Visually examines welds for adherence to blueprint specifications
Maintains welding equipment and makes adjustments on equipment to prepare it to weld different parts or subassemblies when changing from one part to the other
Loads and unloads fixtures
Performs simple measurements using devices or gauges to check work
May skip weld designed parts to secure pieces for other welders
Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Ability to understand and follow simple instructions
Capable of performing standard measurements
Knowledge of basic procedures of mig welding required
Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance
Must be able to speak, hear and see to perform duties to communicate and build subassemblies
Must be able to demonstrate required knowledge and ability to read blueprints with weld symbols and specifications
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required
Minimum 3 months to 1 year experience in welding required

While performing the duties of this job, will be exposed to a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant. Must be able to stand approximately 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop, lift and reach around on a constant basis. Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended amount of time.
