Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Secaucus, New Jersey
Description We are looking for an entry-level Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Secaucus, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounts payable within the freight forwarding industry. The role requires someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process and code invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and execute vendor payments, including check runs.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
• Monitor and manage accounts payable inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain an organized system for tracking invoices and payments.
• Assist with stocking office supplies and ensuring communal areas are well-maintained.
• Collaborate with team members to complete additional tasks as assigned.
• Adapt to various responsibilities and wear multiple hats as needed.
• Utilize Excel and other tools for data entry and account analysis. Requirements • Familiarity with accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and processing.
• Basic knowledge of financial reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or a willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and handle various responsibilities effectively.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Prior experience in a freight forwarding or logistics environment is a plus but not required.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
