About the Role Parametrix is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern to join our team in Seattle. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside planners and engineers on projects focused on multimodal corridors, transit, and active transportation planning. Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting planning analyses, public engagement efforts, and preparation of materials used by clients and project partners. Job Responsibilities: Support the Transportation Planning team on multimodal corridor, transit, and active transportation planning projects. Assist with planning frameworks for decision-making, including screening and prioritization processes. Support public outreach and engagement activities, helping coordinate and document feedback from stakeholders and community members. Help prepare client- and partner-facing materials such as presentations, memos, maps, and graphics that clearly communicate findings and recommendations. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and concise text for reports, memos, and presentations. Analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple datasets, maintain version control, and document assumptions and methods. Proficiency with common planning tools and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ArcGIS, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator and InDesign). Interest in multimodal transportation and corridor planning, and enthusiasm for translating policy or planning visions into implementable priorities. Compensation Information: Hourly rate for this position is in the range of $24-30/hour. Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role.
