This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. You will be responsible for performing and coordinating structural analysis on the fluid systems of the New Glenn launch vehicle. This is a hands-on position that involves all aspects of structural analysis, including: configuration development and trade studies, developing novel and efficient approaches to challenging analysis problems, crafting analysis reports to support drawing releases, supporting structural test development, performing post-test analysis, dispositioning manufacturing defects, analyzing structural repairs, and more. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 8+ years of experience in the structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems including valves, tubing/piping, pressure vessels Experience with FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred) including structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo / Solidworks / NX) Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection and component testing Ability to use structural hand-calcs to make quick effective decisions Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
