Blue Origin LLC Sr Manager - New Glenn Software Integration in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. Lead a team of skilled software integration engineers designing, building, and testing the integrated software system for the next generation New Glenn rocket. In this role, you'll make architectural decisions that shape the future of rocket software and automation. You'll shepherd the vehicle software design through the entire product lifecycle. As a software leader, you'll own the process, integration roadmap, and system verification strategy & tactics to deliver a high quality software system. An expert troubleshooter, you'll also bring teams together to solve difficult integration problems and foresee issues before they arise. Lastly, you'll deliver the software system verification report that will ensure each launch is successful. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a team of technical software integration engineers Make critical architectural decisions that will influence future rocket systems Develop strategies for flight software development and qualification testing using hardware-in-loop laboratories Ensure delivery of high-quality software for New Glenn missions Incorporate AI and automation into operational frameworks to reduce manual workload and improve reliability This role offers the opportunity to have significant impact on next-generation rocket development while working with cutting-edge technology and a talented engineering team. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in computer, aerospace, or electrical engineering or related field 5+ years of design, integration, and test experience for real-time embedded software systems, particularly in C/C++ Effective communication skills with program and executive leadership. Proven experience developing & verifying software to meet requirements Familiarity with Agile and DevOps processes and culture Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience with embedded software systems, ranging across the entire development lifecycle. Experience with aerospace/launch vehicle development and operations, such as proposals, system definition, design, production, integration, verification, mission operations, and anomaly resolution. Experience working on multi-component, sophisticated avionics for spacecraft, aircraft, of similar systems. Experience in autonomy, sequencers, state machines, and/or fault management and their deployment onto real-time operating systems. Familiarity with software quality assurance standards like NPR 7150.2 or DO-178.
