The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you'll own and drive development of a groundbreaking simulation testbed for our Blue Ring spacecraft program. Blue Ring is the "Swiss Army Knife of satellites" and can support a variety of missions in Earth orbit domains out to the cislunar region - including transporting and hosting payloads, refueling satellites, as well as performing data relay, storage and compute via our in-space edge compute capability. In this role you'll own requirements gathering, planning, architectural design, implementation, and certification for our new hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) / software-in-the-loop (SWIL) simulation testbed. You'll collaborate both with our internal simulation team and external customers to develop sophisticated simulation models that precisely reflect spacecraft operational scenarios, and develop test scripts to execute and automate test events / activities. Special Mentions: Relocation provided 10-15% domestic travel required Responsibilities: Develop and implement subsystem- and vehicle-level spacecraft simulation models for our Blue Ring hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) / software-in-the-loop (SWIL) testbed Work with external customers and internal engineering teams to develop customer-specific simulation solutions Develop test plans, scripts, displays and automation solutions Develop test strategies and products for validating models and the SWIL testbed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field 5+ years of relevant experience in developing software simulation testbeds for innovative systems Proficient in C / C++ development Skilled in Python or similar scripting languages to enhance automation and efficiency In-depth knowledge of real-time operating systems and embedded control systems, including APIs, interfaces, and device drivers Familiarity with communication protocols such as UDP/TCP, I2C, UART, etc. Exceptionally organized great teammate with excellent written and verbal communication skills Desired Qualifications: Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 8+ years of relevant experience developing software simulation testbeds for innovative and large-scale engineering systems Experience developing software for a Hardware-in-the-Loop vehicle simulator Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitLab, or GitHub Strong debugging skills at the software-hardware interface Familiar with hardware emulation tools like Simics Expertise in customizing continuous integration systems Understanding of electrical and electronic engineering concepts Solid grasp of IP networking Competent in MATLAB and Simulink Acquainted with GNC systems and 6DOF dynamics Proficient with DOORs Next Generation, SVN, Jenkins Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $164,652.00 - $230,512.80 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requiremen
