This role is part of TeraWave, a satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This network will service tens of thousands of enterprise, data center, and government users who require reliable connectivity for critical operations. We are seeking an experienced Satellite Structures and Configuration Engineer to join our innovative spacecraft development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and configuration of satellite systems, ensuring optimal mass efficiency while maintaining structural integrity. The ideal candidate will contribute to mission success by developing robust structural solutions that meet mission requirements while optimizing mass, volume, and performance parameters. Key Responsibilities: Lead structural design and configuration activities for satellite systems, including primary and secondary structures Perform detailed mass optimization studies to ensure spacecraft meets mission requirements while maximizing payload capacity Develop and maintain packaging strategies for satellite components, ensuring efficient use of available volume Conduct comprehensive stress and modal analyses to validate structural designs under various loading conditions Design and analyze composite structures, leveraging advanced materials to achieve weight savings Collaborate with systems engineering, thermal, and propulsion teams to resolve integration challenges Create and maintain detailed CAD models and engineering documentation for structural systems Required Qualifications: B.S. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field 5+ years of experience in spacecraft or aerospace structural design Proficiency in structural analysis tools (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS, or similar) Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX) Demonstrated knowledge of structural design principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes Strong understanding of composite materials and their application in space structures Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: M.S. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering 8+ years of experience with spacecraft structural design and analysis Experience with orbital mechanics and mission planning Knowledge of space environment effects on materials and structures Familiarity with systems engineering principles and spacecraft subsystem interfaces Experience with model correlation and hardware testing Background in vibration isolation systems and deployment mechanisms Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85 WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
