UW Medical Center-Northwest – Center for Behavioral Health and Learning has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator .
WORK SCHEDULE
Full time / 100% FTE
Primarily day shifts Monday-Friday
This position supports a 24/7 facility; some scheduling flexibility will be required to support our weekend and night shift staff

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides training and education to our clinical staff, including education in workplace safety, behavioral restraints, and best practices in behavioral health care

ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING
The Center for Behavioral Health and Learning opened in 2024 and offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care in Washington State. Located in North Seattle, the 6-story facility includes a dedicated geriatric psychiatry floor, a long term civil commitment unit, and a medical-surgical unit supporting patients with behavioral health comorbidities. The facility also houses a robust, interdisciplinary workforce development program.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivers educational services to clinical bedside staff
Conducts classes and competency verifications in various settings, including in-services, skills labs, and 1:1 trainings
Provides onboarding education for newly-hired staff
Plans, implements, and evaluates supplemental clinical training activities
Keeps current with evidence-based practice and shares new practices with staff through learning activities, in-services, and information-sharing
Addresses individual behaviors that improve workplace efficiency, such as time management and task delegation
Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team
Promotes a high functioning clinical environment that fosters continued learning and professional development
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
4 years of clinical nursing experience, including experience in behavioral health
Exposure to medical-surgical nursing or a willingness to learn the fundamentals of medical-surgical nursing
