System One Project Manager in Seattle, Washington
Job Title: Utility Project Manager
Location: Seattle, WA (Remote)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $60.50 - $70.00 per hour on W2
Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Electric Service Application Platform (ESAP), supporting electric service requests and DER interconnections
Decompose large implementations into manageable phases and workstreams, managing each to successful completion
Drive scope, schedule, budget, and resource plans, keeping project elements current and realistic
Lead cutover planning, data migration, and operational transition processes
Support or lead the RFP/procurement process to select platforms and system integrators, define contracts, and finalize statements of work
Manage vendor relationships, hold vendors accountable for deliverables and timelines, and escalate issues as needed
Serve as primary project representative across customer operations, IT, OT, cybersecurity, and executive leadership teams
Develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communication strategies
Identify, surface, and proactively manage project risks and issues, providing viable options
Oversee requirements development, design reviews, and configuration decisions with business owners and system integrators
Manage testing programs including unit, SIT, and UAT phases
Ensure documentation, SOPs, and training are completed before go-live
Enforce security and compliance standards aligned with SCL practices
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience as a Project Manager. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
7+ years of project management experience delivering complex, customer-facing technology implementations
Experience in the utility, energy, or infrastructure sector with understanding of operational processes
PMP Certification or equivalent credential, or demonstrated equivalent experience
Proven ability to manage multi-vendor environments and system integrators
Experience managing implementations involving significant system integrations (WAM, GIS, CRM, customer billing, etc.)
Strong stakeholder management skills across technical, operational, and executive audiences
Ability to break down large projects into phased workstreams and manage them independently
Direct experience with electric service requests, permitting, or interconnection workflows (preferred)
Familiarity with platforms like Accela, PowerClerk, GridUnity, or similar tools (preferred)
Experience with customer-facing utility applications such as portals or service request systems (preferred)
