Amazon Principal Technical Program Manager, Classification & Policy Platform in Seattle, Washington

This is a high-visibility role where you'll influence technical direction, and partner with senior leadership to shape the future of Amazon's catalog management.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive Strategic Vision: Partner with Project Sponsors and senior leadership to define and execute the technical roadmap for complex, multi-year initiatives across the Classification & Policy Platform
• Lead Cross-Functional Programs: Deliver complex programs spanning multiple engineering teams, applied science groups, and business stakeholders across global organizations
• Influence Technical Direction: Guide software development teams on architecture, design, and priorities while setting best practices for program execution across the organization
• Executive Communication: Provide clear, concise communication to VP/SVP-level stakeholders on program status, risks, and strategic recommendations
• Build Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships across Amazon to leverage existing technologies, drive adoption of team initiatives, and influence organizational priorities
• Manage Complex Trade-offs: Lead risk assessment, escalations, and strategic trade-offs between business needs, technical constraints, and resource limitations
• Scale Best Practices: Create frameworks and processes that can be adopted across multiple teams to improve program delivery and operational excellence
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of technical product or program management experience
5+ years of software development experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience working with engineering & applied science teams in Agile environments
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence partners to achieve business objectives
Preferred Qualifications
12+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
Experience leading programs that span multiple organizations and have driven measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, or customer experience
Demonstrated success building and scaling technical programs from inception to delivery
Demonstrated success working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and geographical locations
Background in machine learning, AI/ML systems, or large-scale data processing platforms
Experience in e-commerce, catalog management, or compliance/policy systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
