Amazon Principal Product Manager-Tech, Enterprise Security Products in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Enterprise Security Products (AESP) is a team bringing security products to the market at scale. AESP architects and builds security tooling that is cloud agnostic, meeting our customers where their data is. As an Product Manager-Tech in AESP you will define the experience of customers and shape their security efforts through building the next generation of AI powered security tooling.

If you have a bias for action, customer-obsession and delight in making clarity from ambiguity, this might be be the role for you. This position will require a broad set of skills including, but not limited to product strategy, product design, working directly with external customers, deep-diving new technologies, and executive communication. You will work directly with builders and leadership across Amazon Security.

Key job responsibilities

As a Principal PMT you work backwards from our customers to create a compelling security product vision and a product strategy to solve complex business problems. You own the product roadmap and prioritize features to ensure your MVPs quickly add value for our customers. You are responsible for managing the lifecycle of your products and work independently with engineers, scientists, and other stakeholders on defining, building, and delivering the right products. Your product requirements are concise, with clear, measurable success criteria. You are an effective negotiator, make smart trade-offs without sacrificing quality, and drive appropriate schedules. You use data to influence our business strategy and technical priorities, and escalate when necessary, without damaging relationships. You keep all your stakeholders up to date on your products, upcoming capabilities, and future plans. You independently represent your products and the team, and are comfortable communicating with executives as well as with business and technical stakeholders.

A day in the life

  • Dive deep with your customers to identify and understand their painpoints.

  • Think big to build durable products that anticipate future painpoints.

  • Use your technical judgment and understanding to test assumptions.

  • Write press releases that clearly state the business case and imagine what our customers will say when they are excited when they use your products.

  • Deliver products on time with the right feature set and high quality.

  • Think through all aspects of your products' life cycles, incl. business, technical, legal, and marketing.

  • Help others grow professionally.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
