Does that sound like you? The Opportunity with McKinstry We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer III to join our Engineering & Design team in Seattle, WA. Engineers at McKinstry are unsurpassed in their ability to combine innovative problem solving with common sense design applications. Because of our design, build, operate, and maintain (DBOM) process, McKinstry engineers concern themselves not just with the construction of a building, but how it will operate over its entire lifetime. Every design choice is made toward one goal - delivering high-performance buildings that ensure occupant comfort and safety, keep energy/operating costs low, maximize client profitability, and protect the environment. Project Management Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions. Follows McKinstry Engineering standards and procedures. Contributes to tasks on multiple projects and timelines concurrently. Manages team's workload to deliver assigned tasks on time and in the budget. Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts. Defines, communicates, and manages scope, design intent, and design process for direct supervisor review Design Proficient in mechanical systems design, including calculations, airside systems, piping systems, equipment selection and multi-discipline coordination. Performs and coaches others in engineering calculations, design, and drafting tasks. Produces or directs production of design drawings and building information models for construction. Pursues an understanding of the technical foundation of design activities and decisions. Performs coordination with internal and external team members. Identifies opportunities for process and technology improvements. Investigates, evaluates, and troubleshoots existing systems. Develops options for design direction, system selection, energy conservation and cost savings strategies. What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry Must have demonstrated proficiency for all responsibilities of a Project Engineer III. Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline required or equivalent work experience required. Five (5) years of experience in 2D/3D AutoCAD and Revit modeling preferred. Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python and structural analysis software (Bentley platform, RISA or SAP 2000) software tools preferred. Five (5) years of experience in engineering design or related field is preferred. Onsite construction experience considered and welcome. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams required. LEED accreditation is preferred. Engineering in Training Certificate required.
